Antivirus

hey, because i got a new laptop it came with a trial version of norton. i actually don't mind norton but i don't really want to buy it... just wonder what antivirus you guys have and what would be the best (and cheapest if possible free) way to go about getting a good antivirus.

i've heard good things about the earlier AVG antivirus but have heard it is no longer as good.
heard good things about AVAST i think it was...
apart from them i've got no idea

advice plz?

its good just to have as a back up but i also use 'Spybot- search & destroy'

i have Kaspersky Internet Security 2009, and i didnt exacly buy it... but anyway it works very well i would say best anti virus is Kaspersky

did you get a torrent? or some other way? i'm not sure if i would go for avg because i've heard it takes a lot of RAM or something like that and makes your preformance suffer.

Well I only use the computer for music, drawing programs and schoolwork pretty much, so AVG can eat all of the RAM it wants. Razz

i Downloaded the Kaspersky internet security 2009 trial from the site then downloaded some keys with a torrent

I used AVG but when it went to 8.0 I think it was I stopped.
AVG 8.0 used heaps of my bandwidth so I started looking for an alternative and my bro told me Avast was good and I've been using that ever since.
